Dr. -Ing. Javensius Sembiring is an instructor at the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia. He is a member of Aircraft Design, Operation, and Maintenance (ADOM) research group. He got his doctorate in engineering from Technical University of Munich, Germany in 2020 with the topic of “Heuristic Parameter Estimation for FDM Data.” During his period at TUM, he also worked as a teaching assistant where he supported 2 lectures, Operational Flight Safety and Aircraft System Identification. Along with that, he also involved in German national project as well as European level project such as safeclouds.eu.

His main research involves simulation and system identification, flight operations and application of machine learning algorithm/smart system in aviation field. During his spare time, he likes coding and reading aviation related field.

His teaching activities include Aircraft System Identification, Air Transport Modeling, Flight Operations, Airworthiness Certification, Statistics and Data Science, Introduction to Computing, and Introduction to Engineering Design. He also actively provides several trainings to students and community related to Machine Learning and Python programming language.
